I cried, more than once.....

So 7 IVF treatments later, Lori is finally getting her little girl. I am SO moved by the sight of this belly.... I know how loved this little baby girl already is and how much of a miracle she will always be. Someday she'll know the strength and will of her mother. I can't wait to be part of her life!!

Best Kids

I do have the best kids ever.... they have been SO patient during this time... they jump in and out of the room while I'm taking photos and never whine about me being "busy"... I'm going to post this goofy pic of Liv and then go snuggle them RIGHT up!

There are some little people in my life who absolutely tug on my heartstrings. This is one of them..... and he calls me "Nanshy". Everything he does and says makes me laugh. I will go back to view this 5-minute photo session often... just to remind me why I will always want to photograph children!!

It's LILY!!

Oh my gosh.... this funny little girl is why I LOVE taking photos. Not only is she gorgeous and charming but she seriously talked non-stop from the time she walked in my door until the time she was pulled away. We'll definitely be seeing more of Lily!!

A little girl within

This morning during my first ever maternity shoot, Jacob gave me about 30 seconds of his time (after I bribed him with a purple lollipop). He was so sweet and so gorgeous that I can't WAIT to get more photos of JUST him! And maybe even Jacob with his new baby sister!! He's going to be so loving, I can just tell!

Children are my biggest challenge!

So.... the last 5 years of my life have been comprised of about 89,000 children's photos... mostly my own. My kids are beautiful, do you blame me? I actually think that children are the hardest little people to photograph. They're always moving, they're always making goofy faces, they're easily distracted, and I could go on.... BUT - they're hilarious to me. I LOVE their innocence and their curiousity and their perfect little flawless skin! Oh, and the giggles..... I will do ANYTHING to make kids giggle. ("tooting" noises really do work well)

I have been asking all of my friends if they'll let me "practice" on their children this month. I photographed this family last week I am just SO in love with all three of these kids. Not only are they stunningly gorgeous, they were so silly and so fun and they gave me a LOT of good candid opportunities.

Well, here it is.... my first blog post. I'm just going to go ahead and assume that everyone wants to hear all of my thoughts, inspirations and daily accomplishments ~ this is what I'm told makes a successful blogger. We'll see. I'm a NEWLY established photographer. I've been taking photos for years, like um.... since about 1989 I guess. I'm launching this business on a leap of faith and although I've already done some things in backward fashion, I am surrounded by an unbelievable group of supportive friends and family! YAY ME!!! Here I go..... I'll be documenting my learning experience in this industry and as you will see, I still have a LOT to learn.
